General Summary:

The Environmental Health & Safety Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing databases of chemical inventories and chemicals purchased for the client.  This will involve identifying missing data and recommending corrective actions as needed as well as any process improvements.


Individual Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintenance of key data elements through analysis of reports; identify missing data and corrective actions.
  • Work with site team to manually collect and digitize data not included in electronic data feed collection.
  • Query data from complex relational databases for various analyses and/or requests using MS Access or SQL.
  • Perform proactive and reactive analyses to ensure data integrity and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Complete projects that require data mining and apply creative-thinking approach to identify and understand potential cost savings and business opportunities for the client.
  • Understand and develop the means to provide data supporting operational metrics.
  • Provide training and/or support as needed.
  • Develops and provides accurate reports as needed in a timely manner. (chemical inventory, chemical transactions, environmental data and tcmIS system reports).
  • Assist in the resolution of quality lane nonconformance’s and catalog addition issues – record all occurrences on an ongoing basis. Analyze for recurring instances and develop corrective action plans with site management team and client.
  • Process Mapping – produce process maps for key processes; storage, catalog, and retrieve process maps as requested.
  • Assist with customer feedback analysis, recording, logging, and distribution.
  • Performs quantitative or qualitative analysis to assist in the identification of client issues and the development of client specific solutions.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree – concentration in scientific field, IT or Finance preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis role, previous chemical data analysis and/or or environmental data analysis strongly preferred.
  • Financial analysis background/experience is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Access and PowerPoint required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required.
  • Solid understanding of Six Sigma concepts required.
  • Seeking self-starter who is able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary; must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers and senior management.
