General Summary:

Perform chemical management service functions in support of client operations that include but are not limited to: incoming inspection and identification, inventory reconciliation, waste identification and removal coordination.

 

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Perform material incoming identification and quality inspection: examine incoming materials to ensure products purchased conform to vendor and catalog data.  Communicate discrepancies to appropriate client and management personnel.  Identification of approved material with bar-coded labels.
  • Inventory reconciliation: update laboratory and warehouse data as necessary to maintain optimum customer inventory. Cycle-counts of customer inventory using customer provided scanning equipment.
  • Identification of empty and/or expired materials for disposal and coordination with on-site waste personnel for empty and/or expired material removal.
  • Coordinate with customers in a courteous and professional manner with select hazardous materials concerns, providing guidance and instruction as needed.
  • Maintain company and customer owned equipment by complying with maintenance standards and procedures as directed in the applicable guidance.
  • Provide assistance to Management and Customers upon request. Follow appropriate documented processes and procedures documenting exceptions encountered during normal performance of duty.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required, with 4 to 5 years related experience.
  • Must have basic computing skills and have a basic understanding of warehousing and inventory management functions.
  • Must be able to read, write and interpret documents such as purchase orders, packing slips, safety data sheets, regulations, operating procedures and safety rules.
  • Must have the ability to speak effectively with co-workers, customers and management.
  • Must possess mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Must be able to periodically lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be proficient with MS Office programs and their use.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with-in a team environment.
